Fair Use Policy
Last Updated: July 1, 2026
This Fair Use Policy explains how Belgg Hosting manages resource usage, performance, storage, network activity, and abusive behaviour across its hosting services.
Our goal is simple: customers should be able to use the resources included with their plan, while no single service should harm the stability, performance, security, or availability of the platform for other customers.
This Fair Use Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. By using Belgg Hosting, you agree to follow this policy.
1. General Principle
Belgg Hosting allows normal and reasonable use of the resources included with each plan. A game server using high resources is not automatically considered abusive.
Some game servers, modpacks, plugins, maps, player counts, and configurations naturally require more CPU, RAM, storage, or network usage. This is expected and allowed as long as it does not negatively affect other customers, damage infrastructure, or bypass service limits.
Fair use is based on the actual impact of your service, not only on the amount of resources shown in a panel or monitoring graph.
2. Plan Limits
Each service includes specific limits such as CPU, RAM, storage, databases, backups, ports, allocations, processes, or other technical resources.
You may use the resources assigned to your plan for the intended purpose of the service. You may not bypass, exploit, modify, or avoid limits set by Belgg Hosting, the billing system, the hosting panel, containers, nodes, or infrastructure.
If your service regularly needs more resources than your current plan provides, Belgg Hosting may recommend or require an upgrade, optimisation, migration, or configuration change.
3. CPU Usage
CPU resources may be used for running your game server, related server software, plugins, mods, worlds, scheduled tasks, and normal service processes.
CPU usage may be considered unfair or abusive when it causes repeated performance issues, node instability, degraded service for other customers, or excessive load unrelated to normal game server operation.
Examples of unfair CPU usage include:
- Running cryptocurrency miners or similar compute-heavy workloads.
- Running unrelated background processes.
- Using scripts or software designed to bypass CPU limits.
- Creating intentional lag machines, loops, fork bombs, or resource exhaustion systems.
- Keeping broken, misconfigured, or exploited software running after being asked to fix it.
- Using the service for workloads unrelated to the purchased hosting plan.
4. RAM Usage
You may use the RAM included with your plan for your game server and related processes.
Belgg Hosting may intervene if your service repeatedly crashes, leaks memory, consumes RAM in a way that affects the node, or attempts to bypass assigned memory limits.
If your server needs more RAM because of player count, mods, plugins, worlds, or software requirements, you should upgrade your plan or optimise your configuration.
5. Storage Usage
Storage must be used for files related to your hosted service, such as worlds, maps, plugins, mods, configuration files, logs, databases, and other necessary server files.
Storage may not be used as general file storage, personal backup storage, media storage, file sharing, warez hosting, public downloads, or any purpose unrelated to your hosting service.
Belgg Hosting may remove, restrict, or request cleanup of files that are unrelated, abusive, illegal, harmful, excessively large, duplicated, or used to bypass storage limits.
6. Logs and Temporary Files
You are responsible for managing logs, crash reports, cache files, temporary files, old backups, and unused server files.
Excessive logs or temporary files may cause storage issues, performance problems, or service failures. Belgg Hosting may ask you to clean them up or may take reasonable action if they affect the platform.
7. Backups
Backups, where available, must be used for reasonable recovery purposes and not as a way to bypass storage limits or create unlimited duplicated storage.
You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important files, worlds, databases, plugins, mods, and configurations.
Belgg Hosting may limit, remove, rotate, or delete backups that are excessive, outdated, duplicated, abusive, or linked to cancelled, suspended, terminated, or unpaid services.
8. Network Usage
Network resources must be used for normal operation of your hosted service, including player traffic, game server communication, updates, downloads required by the server, and related service traffic.
Network usage may be considered unfair or abusive when it causes congestion, attacks, abnormal traffic, reputation damage, excessive bandwidth usage, or disruption to other customers or third parties.
Prohibited network activity includes:
- DDoS, DoS, stress testing, booting, or traffic flooding.
- Port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or probing third-party systems.
- Running public proxies, VPNs, tunnels, relays, or similar services without permission.
- Sending spam, unsolicited traffic, or abusive automated requests.
- Hosting malware, phishing, botnets, command-and-control systems, or malicious payloads.
- Using the network in a way that harms Belgg Hosting, other customers, providers, or third parties.
9. DDoS Attacks and Network Protection
Belgg Hosting may provide DDoS protection where available, but no protection can guarantee that every attack will be filtered or that service will remain available during all attacks.
If your service receives attacks that affect the network, infrastructure, providers, or other customers, Belgg Hosting may apply filtering, rate limits, IP changes, null-routes, temporary suspension, or termination depending on the severity and frequency of the issue.
Services that repeatedly attract harmful attacks may be restricted, migrated, upgraded, or cancelled if they create an unreasonable risk to the platform.
10. Mods, Plugins, and Custom Software
Belgg Hosting allows the use of mods, plugins, custom jars, datapacks, maps, and similar content, provided they do not violate our Terms of Service, this Fair Use Policy, or applicable laws.
You are responsible for ensuring that your mods, plugins, and custom software are safe, legal, updated, and properly configured.
Belgg Hosting may restrict or suspend services using software that causes instability, excessive resource usage, security risks, malware infections, crashes, or repeated abuse reports.
11. Background Processes
Background processes must be directly related to the hosted service.
You may not use a game server plan to run unrelated bots, miners, downloaders, scrapers, proxies, tunnels, scanners, file hosting tools, automation systems, or other persistent workloads unless Belgg Hosting has given permission or the plan specifically allows it.
Belgg Hosting may stop, limit, suspend, or remove unrelated background processes without notice if they affect service stability, security, or resource availability.
12. Databases
Databases must be used for the hosted service and related applications.
Database usage may be considered unfair if it causes excessive CPU load, memory usage, disk I/O, storage growth, slow queries, connection abuse, or instability.
You are responsible for cleaning unused tables, removing unnecessary data, optimising plugins, and avoiding database abuse caused by badly configured software.
13. Automation and Scripts
Automation and scripts are allowed when they are reasonable, safe, and related to your hosted service.
Scripts may not be used to bypass limits, generate artificial load, perform attacks, scrape third-party services aggressively, spam requests, evade suspension, or interfere with Belgg Hosting systems.
14. Abusive or Harmful Activity
Belgg Hosting may treat activity as abusive if it harms, risks, disrupts, or degrades the platform, other customers, providers, networks, or third parties.
Examples include malware, phishing, fraud, spam, copyright abuse, DDoS activity, evasion of limits, repeated misconfiguration, intentional resource exhaustion, or ignoring reasonable instructions from support.
Abuse does not need to be intentional. If your service is compromised, misconfigured, or exploited, you are still responsible for fixing the issue and preventing further harm.
15. Monitoring and Investigation
Belgg Hosting may monitor resource usage, logs, network activity, service status, and platform behaviour to maintain stability, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, enforce policies, and protect customers.
Belgg Hosting does not actively review all customer content, but may inspect files, processes, configurations, logs, or activity when needed to provide support, investigate abuse, resolve incidents, comply with law, or enforce this policy.
16. Actions We May Take
If a service violates this Fair Use Policy or creates risk for the platform, Belgg Hosting may take reasonable action depending on the severity, urgency, and impact of the issue.
Actions may include:
- Contacting you with a warning or optimisation request.
- Temporarily limiting CPU, RAM, storage, network, or processes.
- Stopping abusive processes or services.
- Moving the service to another node where appropriate.
- Requesting an upgrade or configuration change.
- Suspending the affected service.
- Removing harmful, abusive, or unrelated files.
- Terminating the service in serious or repeated cases.
- Refusing future orders from accounts linked to abuse or repeated violations.
In urgent, severe, illegal, fraudulent, or security-sensitive cases, action may be taken without prior notice.
17. Customer Responsibility
You are responsible for keeping your service secure, updated, and properly configured.
This includes managing plugins, mods, permissions, passwords, panel users, databases, backups, logs, files, and any third-party software you install.
If your service causes issues, you must work with Belgg Hosting to resolve them within a reasonable time. Failure to respond or fix repeated problems may result in limitation, suspension, or termination.
18. Changes to This Policy
Belgg Hosting may update this Fair Use Policy at any time.
When changes are important, we will try to notify customers through the website, client area, email, Discord, or another available channel.
Continuing to use the services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Fair Use Policy.
